University of California at Berkeley Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences Instructional & Electronics Support Group /share/b/pub/SecureCRT.help http://inst.eecs.berkeley.edu/share/b/pub/SecureCRT.help What is SecureCRT? ----------------- SecureCRT is a commercial software product for Microsoft Windows operating systems that provides a 'telnet' program with added features. Most notable is that is will securely enscrypt your password when logging into a UNIX computer that supports the "ssh" program, as do all the EECS Instructional UNIX computers. The regular 'telnet' program supplied with MS Windows and Exeed do not do this, so when you use them you risk having your password 'sniffed' as it passes over the Internet. SecureCRT also allows you to transfer files securely over then net. DISCLAIMER: UC Berkeley does not endorse or represent the SecureCRT product; we describe it here only as a service to our users. The student price for Secure CRT is $50. Contact sales@vandyke.com or http://www.vandyke.com for more infomation.
