Students are advised to bring their own headphones. Audio on the Solaris X86 (PC) workstations ------------------------------------------ On the X86 systems running Solaris in 275 Soda, you can control the audio of the headphone jack with the command /usr/bin/gnome-volume-control For help: man gnome-volume-control On the DELL X86 systems in 275 Soda, you can plug headphones into the green audio input connector along the bottom of the back of the computer. (Unfortunately, you cannot use the more convenient connector on the front of the computer.) Audio on the Solaris SPARC (SunRay) workstations ------------------------------------------------ On the SunRays xterminals running Solaris, you can control the audio of the headphone jack with the command /opt/SUNWut/bin/utsettings For help: man -M /opt/SUNWut/man utsettings Audio on the Windows systems ---------------------------- The MS Windows systems typically have RealPlayer, CD Player, Volume Control and Media Player installed.
