University of California at Berkeley Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences Instructional Support Group /share/b/pub/scratch.help /share/b/pub/byob.help Feb 24 2011 CONTENTS Scratch & BYOB Scratch & BYOB -------------- Scratch is a programming language developed at MIT that makes it easy to create interactive stories, animations, games, music, and art to share on the web. Scratch is available free of charge from http://scratch.mit.edu/. Scratch and "BYOB based on Scratch" (http://byob.berkeley.edu/) are installed on the Windows computers in 105 Cory and 199 Cory, and on the MacOSX computers in 200 Sutardja-Dai Hall. Scratch and BYOB are installed for both X86 and SPARC Solaris UNIX computers as /usr/sww/bin/byob and /usr/sww/bin/scratch. It must be run directly on the workstation or SunRay console (not from an ssh shell using X-forwarding.) Scratch and BYOB are installed on the Linux workstations in 330 Soda.
