It was formerly known as "Saber-C" (and the company was named "Saber Software, Inc.). CodeCenter Version 3.1.2 is available on the IS&T-supported file server called moby.berkeley.edu on the /vol/moby/moby_a filesytem. A variety of UNIX versions are there. On the EECS Instructional systems, CodeCenter is currently available only on cory.eecs and po.eecs. Start it with either of these commands: /usr/local/bin/codecenter (text only) /usr/local/bin/xcodecenter (XWindows graphics) Once you start codecenter, the commands "help" lists functions and other commands. There is built-in access to the Codecenter man pages; for example, type "man codecenter". The "quit" command exits codecenter. To run xcodecenter, you may need to configure XWindows on your workstation so that the remote computer (po.eecs or cory.eecs) can display windows there. Please see /share/b/pub/XWindows.help for instructions about that. Manual Pages for codecenter --------------------------- You can read the man pages without starting codecenter if you add the path to the codecenter on-line manual pages with this UNIX command: setenv MANPATH ${MANPATH}:/vol/moby/moby_a/codecenter/common/man Then you can view the man pages with these commands: man codecenter man xcodecenter Campus Support for CodeCenter ----------------------------- IS&T has a campus site license for UC Berkeley and the workgroup ID is 4342. The campus license server is run on Moby. Non- EECS users can contact Workstation Support in 264 Evans to borrow the CodeCenter tape and installation instructions for their own machines. The full package for various achitectures is on Moby under /vol/moby/moby_a/CenterLine. If you can mount Moby, you may be able to install codecenter over the net. See /vol/moby/moby_a/CenterLine/README for instructions. ObjectCenter ------------ ObjectCenter, the C++ programming environment from CenterLine, is not available on the EECS Instructional systems. It's too expensive. EECS Instructional & Electronics Support 386 & 377 Cory, 333 Soda inst@eecs.berkeley.edu
