They were optained by Ferenc Kovac in Fall 2011. They are attached to the PCs via USB cables. Installing the Digilent Board USB Driver ---------------------------------------- Install the driver while logged in as a local administrator account. See \\fileservice\Software\DriverInstall.pdf (ISG staff only). With a successfully installed driver, WaveForm ran successfully and turned on the green light on the Digilent board. Troubleshooting the Digilent Board USB Driver --------------------------------------------- Sometimes the Digilent driver is installed, but WaveForm doesn't detect the board. This problem can be solved by turning off the power on the Digilent board, unplugging the power cord and USB cable, plugging in the power cord, turning on the power, and plugging in the USB cable. Scenario I: The Digilent driver is installed, but WaveForm doesn't detect the board. Solution I: Turn off the power on the Digilent board, unplug the power cord and USB cable, plug in the power cord, turn on the power, and plug in the USB cable. When WaveForm runs successfully, it turns on the green light on the Digilent board. Scenario II: The Digilent board shows up in the device manager as an "unknown device" or you get a message about "USB device malfunctioned." Solution II: Shut down the computer from XP, unplug the power cord, and then hold down the power button for ten seconds to discharge the capacitors on the computer motherboard. Still holding the power button, plug in the power cord and turn the computer back on. The Digilent board is automatically recognized. Waveforms runs fine and turns on the green light on the Digilent board. Please see the discussion thread for more information about why discharging the capacitor could fix a lot of device issues: http://www.ntcompatible.com/Desperately_need_help_---_USB_Devices_Not_Recognized_t32356.html After being unplugged, the Digilent USB driver will disappear after a day or two.
