Here is a description of the package from its authors: ImageMagick(TM) is a robust collection of tools and libraries to read, write, and manipulate an image in many image formats (over 68 major formats) including popular formats like TIFF, JPEG, PNG, PDF, Photo CD, and GIF. With ImageMagick you can create images dynamically, making it suitable for Web applications. You can also resize, rotate, sharpen, color reduce, or add special effects to an image and save your completed work in the same or differing image format. Image processing operations are available from the command line, as well as through C, C++, and PERL-based programming interfaces. It consists of the following programs: * animate - display a sequence of images on any workstation running X. * combine - combine images to create new images. * convert - converts an input file using one image format to an output file with the same or differing image format. * display - display an image on any workstation running X. * identify - describe the format and characteristics of one or more image files. * import - capture some or all of an X server screen and save the image to a file. * mogrify - transform an image or sequence of images. * montage - creates a composite image by combining several separate images.
