It is commonly used to play audio and video files via a WEB browser. Free copies of Realplayer for MS Windows, MacOS and several versions of UNIX are available from http://www.real.com/player/ It is installed on all Instrustional MS Windows and MacOS systems and on the EECS Solaris SPARC UNIX systems. Realplayer can be found by running /usr/bin/realplay on a Sun Solaris SPARC UNIX system. See http://inst.eecs.berkeley.edu/~inst/iesglabs.html for the locations of these computers. RealPlayer on UNIX ------------------ For your UNIX account, you can install the MIME types and plugins needed by your browser by running the commands cd /usr/sww/pkg/RealPlayer8 ./mimeinstall.sh ./pluginstall.sh This happens automatically when you use Realplayer on Windows.
