Q: I unzip the plugin to the correct path, but i don't see "CS164" submenu under Window -> Open View -> Other. Why?
A: If you installed ecilpse at: C:\Program Files\eclipse\, you can try moving the whole eclipse direcotry to some other places like C:\eclipse\ or D:\eclipse\ This has proven to solve the problem for a student. It may work for you as well. :)
Q: When I update with my cvs, i still don't see report.xml and cvg_summary.xml in my local directories. Where's the problem?
A: The most common problems:
1) You used a different cvspath from the one setup_cvs script gave you.
Contact cs164-la and in the mail include your cs164 login and cvsroot path that you are using.
2) Your project is not called "PA1" (uppercased)in your repository
You have to create a project called "PA1" (uppercased), move all your PA1 files there, commit all of them. Then keep on using "PA1" from now on.
Of course, this applies to not only PA1 but all PAs.
A: Seeing report.xml and cvg_summary.xml in your cvsroot is a good sign. In order to view the results in the plugin, you have to Synchronize and Update to retrieve the xml files to you local machine.
Q: I have report.xml and cvg_summary.xml in my local PA1/tests/ directory, but the plugin still shows all testcases failed and coverage is 0%. Why?
A: Try this:
Eclipse -> Window -> Open Perspective -> Java
Then you should see the Java perspective opened. In "Package Explorer" or "Navigator" view, click on any file inside the project that you want to display the testcase results for (eg. click at the tests/ directory inside PA1). At this point, the "Remote Testing" view should show the testcases and their reults. You can click the "Refresh" button on the top right corner in "Remote Testing" view to make sure the view is up-to-date. This "Refresh" button is different from the "Refresh" you see when you right click in "Package Explorer".
If none of the above answers your question, please try the newest plugin v1.1.0. If problem persists, contact cs164-la@imail.cs.berkeley.edu
