CS 39J: Session 4

http://inst.eecs.berkeley.edu/~cs39j/session04.html
11 February 2005

Some General Notes:

When in a location, don't be afraid to move yourself around looking for a better shot - imperfections in the picture can often be corrected if taken from a different perspective. If you can, walk around while looking through the camera.

If you find an interesting location, stay there, and take a few pictures. Don't just take a shot and leave, wait for elements in the picture to arrange themselves in a way you would prefer. Try to minimize distracting elements in your photos.

Hold your breath while taking a picture - this helps minimize movement of the camera and blur.

Be careful of cutting off the edges of an object, unless this is the effect you want.

If you are going for a certain style, do it in the extreme. Otherwise it may look like a mistake.
