Q: Where did you grow up? What was your path to Cal? A: I grew up in Boulder, Colorado until I was about 12, and then I moved to Santa Barbara, California until I graduated High School. Both of my parents went here, and I knew it was a good school for Computer Science, so I applied as part of the UC Application, got in, and picked it because I knew its reputation as a great school and I wanted to get away from home. Q: How much programming have you done (and what languages)? A: I have been programming for 3-4 years on and off. I know Java and Python well, and I have dabbled in C++, C#, Haskell, and D. Q: What are your hobbies? What are some of your talents and skills? A: I like to do card tricks, play guitar, hang out with people, eat, and read books when I have the time. Q: Have you done anything remarkable? Has anything memorable happened to you? A: I have been taught by a MacArthur fellow. Q: What commitments will be consuming your cycles this summer? A: I will be working at IST replacing network equipment, a class in Social Psychology, and card tricks.
