/============\ | Homework 0 | \============/ Name: Jeffrey Dong E-mail: jefdongus@berkeley.edu Mini-Biography: ============== --> Where did you grow up? What was your academic path? (e.g. Did you live in the same town all your life or did you move around; and if so, where? Did you go to community college or another school before this one?) I was born in Beijing, China and moved to the US when I was six. After that, I've lived in Cupertino, CA from then until high school (I went to Monta Vista for anyone who is curious). It is now my 4th year at Cal. --> How much programming have you done (and what languages)? I started programming in my senior year of high school through my AP computer science class. After that, I worked on some Android/iOS development with a friend, which exposed me to C and Objective-C. Also during college I learned Python, Javascript, and PHP, as well as a decent amount of shell scripting from TAing. Recently, I've been using C++ while playing around with the Unreal 4 engine. --> What are your hobbies? What are some of your talents and skills? I enjoy good movies/TV shows/manga/anime. Some stuff I like (in no particular order): The Shawshank Redemption, Game of Thrones, Infernal Affairs, Fullmetal Alchemist, Departures, FLCL, and Samurai Champloo. I can (or at least used to) draw decently with graphite/watercolor/oils. --> Have you done anything remarkable? Has anything really memorable happened to you? (e.g. travel, meeting famous people, 15 min of fame, inventions, overcoming adversity, etc.) The past 3 (soon to be 4) years have been quite memorable :) --> What commitments will be consuming your cycles this term? (e.g. classes, jobs, family, commutes, volunteering, sports, student groups, etc.) My time will mostly be split between classes, TAing, and a bit of volunteering. Besides that, I hope to find time/motivation to run consistently, as well as some free time to relax and hang out with friends.
