/============\ | Homework 0 | \============/ Name: Rohan Chitnis E-mail: ronuchit@berkeley.edu Mini-Biography: ============== --> Where did you grow up? What was your academic path? I've spent my entire life living in the Bay Area. I was born in Mountain View, and I moved to San Jose when I was 3. I'm a junior in EECS, and I hope to go to grad school toward a PhD in computer science in the future. --> How much programming have you done (and what languages)? I've been programming since 7th grade, when my middle school computer class taught us Pascal. In high school, I was president and lead programmer of my school's FIRST robotics team, where we used LabVIEW. I also have plenty of experience in Python, Java, and C++. --> What are your hobbies? What are some of your talents and skills? My hobbies include running (distance; I can't sprint to save my life) and listening to music. I used to play table tennis competitively in middle school and early high school. --> Have you done anything remarkable? Has anything really memorable happened to you? I (along with my team) won the Fall 2013 CSUA Hackathon by building a system that takes as input a picture of a crossword puzzle (taken by a camera), along with the clues, and outputs the complete solved puzzle. --> What commitments will be consuming your cycles this term? In addition to being a TA, I will be taking classes (of course) and doing research at Pieter Abbeel's Robot Learning Lab, an AI lab. Hopefully I'll also find time and motivation to run in the mornings.
