/============\ | Homework 0 | \============/ Name: Shreyas Chand Login: TBD E-mail: shreyas.chand@berkeley.edu OH: TBD Sections: TBD Mini-Biography: ============== --> Where did you grow up? What was your academic path? (e.g. Did you live in the same town all your life or did you move around; and if so, where? Did you go to community college or another school before this one?) I was born and raised in India for a large part of my life. I moved to New Jersey in the 7th grade and went through the rest of my middle school there. I then attended a public magnet school for engineering (still in NJ) which was really tiny: there were 34 kids in my graduating class and a total of 152 students in the whole school. Now, I'm here at Cal in my second year as an EECS (Option IV) major. --> How much programming have you done (and what languages)? I grew up around computers, so if I wanted I could defend the claim that I started programming somewhere around 2nd grade. But realistically, I wrote my first piece of working code sometime towards the end of middle school and really began immersing myself in the world of CS in high school. I am at least somewhat familiar with all the following languages: Java, Python, C, C++, PHP, SQL, Scheme, Ruby, Javascript, BASH, MIPS, PIC16. Although, I can't possibly pretend to be an expert at all (or even most) of them I think I'm definitely proficient in Java, Python, SQL, C and MIPS. --> What are your hobbies? Like most EECS majors, I love playing video games. I also enjoy soccer, cooking/baking, and reading (when I have the time). --> What are some of your talents and skills? I have been told that I cook pretty well and give some of the best hugs. --> Have you done anything remarkable? Has anything really memorable happened to you? (e.g. travel, meeting famous people, 15 min of fame, inventions, overcoming adversity, etc.) I've lived in 12 different houses in 8 different cities throughout my life. --> What commitments will be consuming your cycles this term? (e.g. classes, jobs, family, commutes, volunteering, sports, student groups, etc.) I'll be TA'ing this class! Classes: I'm taking CS 164, CS 195, Math 54 (I put it off for far too long) and UGIS 120. Also, Swimming! Cal Spirit: I'll be organizing all the rallies and bis spirirt events on campus as the Vice Chair of Rallies for the UC Rally Committee. Come ask me stuff about the University and I'll tell you more!
