5.3 Assignment Grades

The readers will complete grading all homeworks and projects by the final. The deadline for all regrade requests is Saturday (5/15) at 1pm. We are sorry it is such a small window, but accounts get turned off on Monday.

3.5 Green Sheet Errors The MIPS Green Sheet in the 3rd edition of P&H has a couple errors, and they are listed below. The Green Sheet from the 4th edition is correct to the best of our knowledge. You can find which version you have at the bottom.
  • In Section (1), the Core Instruction Set, lbu, lhu, and lw do not have an opcode of 0. Their opcodes were put in the 'funct' portion, so just scratch out the '0/'
  • In Section (1), the Core Instruction Set, sll and srl shift rt, not rs. So change 'R[rs]' to 'R[rt].'
  • In Section (1), the Core Instruction Set, jal should set R[31] = 8 + PC. So change the 4 to an 8.
  • In Section (2), the Register Name, Use, Call Convention table has $ra listed as preserved across calls. This is not true, so change the 'Yes' to a 'No.'

1.26 Register Course Accounts

Sadly inst has not been able to seamlessly fix account registration and since the class can wait no longer, we will go forward with the following workaround:

  1. SSH into nova.cs.berkeley.edu
  2. If prompted for your last name, control-c out of it
  3. Run the command register and follow its instructions
If your account is not registered we can't give you grades and you can't submit assignments. Please register before attempting to submit. Submit has now been turned on for HW 1.
