Q: Where did you grow up? What was your academic path? (e.g. Did you live in the same town all your life or did you move around; and if so, where? Did you go to community college or another school before this one?) A: I grew up in Taipei, Taiwan and moved to Cupertino for high school. I am a 4th year EECS major and I specialize in robotics and mechatronics (one of the few non-CS focused). If you are ever interested in robotics, feel free to hit me up. Q: How much programming have you done (and what languages)? A: Besides from programming in class (Scheme, Java, C, Python), I have worked with Objective-C, Matlab, Perl, Tcl/Tk, HTML/CSS/Javascript (thatŐs all I can remember now). My main work is with C since I deal with microprocessors a lot (e.g. Arduino). Besides programming, I use SPICE and design circuits a lot due to my research. Q: What are your hobbies? A: In my free time, I go to RSF and play basketball (and sometimes badminton). I like sports in general (baseball, ping pong, even skiing). I also play the guitar (but I donŐt own one myself) and my Wii. Board games (like Bang) are also my favorites. I love eating (pure) chocolate. Q: What are some of your talents and skills? A: I am bilingual in English and Mandarin. Besides that, the only amazing talent I have is that I eat a lot.... Q: Have you done anything remarkable? Has anything really memorable happened to you? (e.g. travel, meeting famous people, 15 min of fame, inventions, overcoming adversity, etc.) A: I think coming to study in the U.S. is remarkable in the sense that I know both worlds now. My partner and I also won second place in the NatCar autonomous car competition (you can see me in the video with Team Wizard in front of the elevator in second floor Cory). Q: What commitments will be consuming your cycles this term? (e.g. classes, jobs, family, commutes, volunteering, sports, student groups, etc.) A: I have quite a few commitments this semester, despite itŐs my last semester. Besides from taking classes and teaching 61C, I am working on my research, leading the electrical team in a competition team called RoboOps, and leading and teaching the Berkeley MicroMouse competition program. That being said, you can still reach me anytime via email. :)
