- Final Review Notes and Problems. There is a review session for the final on Saturday, December 11th 2004 from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM in 105 North Gate. I will work out problems from the packet above and also try to answer any questions on the course material. If you can't make it to the review session, don't panic. MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THE REVIEW PACKET POSTED ABOVE. You can try coming to my special office hours for the fina: Thursday, 11/16, 6:00 PM - 12:00 AM and Friday, 11/17, 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM in the Free Speech Cafe.
MIDTERM
- There will be a 90-minute midterm examination on Monday, October 18.
- Location: 4 Le Conte. Time: 4:00 pm - 5:30 pm.
- REVIEW SESSION: Wednesday, October 13th 2004, 4:00 - 5:30 pm, 277 Cory.
- ANOTHER REVIEW SESSION: Sunday, October 17th 2004, 11:00 AM - 1:00 pm, 277 Cory. I will work out Thevenin/Norton problems WITH dependent sources and negative resistances. Since Cory Hall is locked over the weekends, lets meet in front of the 2nd floor entrance to Cory (Hearst and LeRoy, next to the bus stop) between 11:00 AM and 11:10 AM. I will have regular office hours after the review session from 1:00 PM - 5:00 PM in 204B Cory.
- REVIEW PROBLEM SOLUTIONS . THANKS TO LEO FOR WRITING UP A NEAT SOLUTION (unlike yours truly).
- ME students have emailed me about a conflict with the E190 placement test. I will address this in the beginning of the review session today. Short answer: you should take the placement test. You can always come to my office hours on Sunday.
- Concepts to be covered: Thevenin, Norton, and superposition theorems. Emphasis on how to handle controlled sources in applying superposition, ideal diode circuits and simple op-amp circuits in the linear regime.
- We will mainly concentrate on going over solutions to these MIDTERM REVIEW PROBLEMS during the review session. Of course, you are welcome to ask questions during the review session on concepts you do not understand.
- The TAs will be holding office hours instead of lab next week (exception: Monday lab is a week behind so PLEASE go to lab on Monday, 10/11/04).
- The midterm will be closed book and closed notes. Work your problems on the exam sheets that we will provide.
- No make-up exam in case of absence (in this case the Final will count as 60%).
