  3. Welcome to EE 100! Please keep checking the EE100 homepage periodically for important announcements, problem set solutions etc.
  4. THOROUGHLY READ the General Course Information which can be found under the Handouts webpage.
  5. Please sign up for our newsgroup on google groups.
  6. There is NO LAB the first week of classes. LABS FOR EE100 START ON Monday, July 3rd 2006 (second week of class). Labs for EE100 will be held in 140 Cory hall. Refer to the Schedule Matrix to figure out when/where the labs and discussions are.
  7. ONLY The first discussion section (Monday, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM) has been cancelled FOR THE FIRST WEEK (its before the first lecture).
  8. Please make sure your submitted HW is READABLE. If it isn't, the reader(s) WILL NOT grade it.

  9. Week of July 3rd:
  10. My office hours this week have been shifted to Sunday (07/09) from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm in 400 Cory [Hughes Room]. I don't have office hours on Saturday (07/08)
  11. For homework #2, you can skip problem 3.30.
  12. In chapter 4, you can skip sections 4.4 through 4.7. You are not responsible for mesh analysis in this class and I will not cover it in lecture.
  13. Starting with homework #2, homeworks will be due @ 2:00 PM on Mondays in the EE100 homework box in 240 Cory

  14. Week of July 10th:
  15. Here is the anonymous feedback website. Choose EE100 (NOT EE42 or EE43) and send your comments. Ideally you should have two sections: whats wrong and your recommendation(s) to fix it. Please DO NOT use inappropriate language in your feedback, it will get filtered out and we won't even get your feedback.
  16. I have posted homework #2 solutions on the website. You should get back your homework #1s in lecture on Wednesday (07/12), homework #2 hopefully by Friday (07/14).
  17. Labs this week have been CANCELLED because I realized that I can postpone labs by one week. You can check the updated lab schedule on the EE100 homepage under Lab. Here is a quick overview of the lab situation for next week:
  18. Please use the extra time available this week to learn stuff for midterm 1. I have updated the Exams webpage on the EE100 homepage, please check it for exam coverage, cheat sheets etc.
  19. I have additional office hours on weekdays, starting this week: Wednesday 4 - 5 and Friday 4 - 5 in 277 Cory (our classroom). Since this is right after class you hopefully shouldn't have difficulty making them.

  20. Week of July 17th
  21. Reading for this week: All of chapter 5 EXCEPT pages 194 through 197 (the section dealing with common-mode gain, differential mode gain and CMRR. You can also get started on Nonlinear Notes 1
  22. Your midterm scores are up, you will most likely get them in class tomorrow. THIS MEANS YOU HAVE ONE WEEK FROM TOMORROW TO SUBMIT GRADE CORRECTIONS. YOU NEED TO BRING THEM TO ME (Bart). MAKE SURE YOU GET MIDTERM 1 SCORES FIXED BY WEDNESDAY, JULY 26th 2006 5:00 pm
  23. Deadline for fixing homeworks 1 and 2 scores: Friday, July 21st 2006, 5:00 pm. Pick them up from lab this week

  24. Week of July 24th
  25. Please read the Nonlinear Notes 1 for this week.
  26. Please turn in ONLY chapter 5 problems on Monday. I will have a few simple nonlinear op-amp problems that are due on July 28th @ 2:00 pm in 240 Cory. I have updated this information under the Homeworks page as well.
  27. We will cover primarily op-amp nonlinear analysis this week. The point of doing this is to hopefully clarify several misconceptions related to positive feedback and oscillators. Along the way you will hopefully learn some basic mathematical and scientific modeling skills.

  28. Week of July 31st
  29. There is NO CLASS on Wednesday, August 2nd 2006
