Tenth  Week - March 19-23

MIDTERM EXAM: Friday March 23 In Class.

The 2nd Midterm Exam will be in class on Friday, March 23. It will cover primarily the material since the First Midterm. Frequency response, diode and bipolar physics and use of bipolar small and large signal models in circuits will be emphasized. COVERAGE: H&S 4.5-4.6, 5.3, 6.1-6.5, 6.9, 7.1-7.5, 7.7-7.8, 8.2-8.3, 10.1-10.3

Review Session:

Review Session Tuesday, February 20, 6:30-8 PM by the TA's in Cory 241

Lecture:

Mostly review of exam related topics through examples of circuits and technology trends.

Discussion Sections:

Example of bipolar transistor amplifier biasing, small-signal circuit, values of small signal elements, circuit analysis of for gain and frequency response and Bode plot. Example of device physics problems.

Laboratories:

Labs are first 30 minutes only just to exchange materials with TA's. See the Lab news page for more info

Midterm Preparation Assistance available in 353 Cory. Susheem Gupta 9-1 Thursday, and Joe Seeger 2-3:30 and 5-6 Thursday.

Homework:

The homework is due at start of class on Wednesday, March 21. The homework has one problem to integrate you knowledge on biasing, small-signal and circuit analysis. Two simpler review problems are given on device physics and regions of operation of transistors.

Schedule and Assignments:
3/19 Lecture 22 - Example circuits and technology trends.
Reading - no new material
3/21
