This week: 15 April - 19 April, 2002

HW#11 Corrections

For problem 3(b), we are actually asking for Vout/Vs, not Vout/Vin.
For problem 3 again, size up RL by a factor of 100, i.e. use RL value of 250k_ohms.   RL of 2.5k_ohms is so small that it will draw too much DC current out of the supply and the simulation will not match with your hand calculations.

Midterm 2 News

Midterm II and Solutions can be found here.

Midterm 2 was handed back in lecture on Friday, 19 April, 2002. If you didn't pick it up, it is available in 497 Cory.

Also, if you left sunglasses in a Gucci case at the test (or think you did), see Prof. Howe about them.

Midterm 2 will be on Wednesday, April 17 6-7:30pm in Sibley Auditorium (remember: no lecture on that day). It covers all material from after Midterm 1 through single-stage amplifiers (through Homework #10).

Review session will be Monday, April 15 6-7:30pm in 277 Cory. Please come with any questions that you may have; we will distribute the solutions to the sample midterm there.

As an example, the Fall 2001 Midterm 2 has been posted. Solutions are finally scanned in and can be found here.

Jonathan's notes from the review session (and other stuff from his sections) can be found here. Look over the example amplifier problem (that was not covered in the review session) for examples of how to "set up experiments" to find intrinsic amplifier properties.

Midterm Office Hours

Ken's Monday discussion section is cancelled today. Instead he will hold extra OH on wednesday for any last minute questions for the midterm.
