We have updated the description of
Project #1
to state that you should run on
c199.eecs.berkeley.edu
rather than
quasar.cs.berkeley.edu,
as well as including a few clarifications that have come up.
Lectures 8 & 9 have been swapped.
Homework #2 will be out on Weds Sep 20 rather than Mon Sep 18, and due
Wed Oct 11 rather than Wed Oct 4.
Because the bookstores are delayed in stocking the Peterson/Davie text,
the due date for Homework #1 is postponed one week to
Sept. 20.
In the interim, here is
an electronic version of Chapter 1.
Problem 2 in the homework ("ping") has been updated to change some of the probed
hosts to fix ones that don't respond.
In general, we are shifting the dates of the remaining homework
assignments considerably - they will come out later (on the due date
of their predecessor) and you will have more time to do them.
During the week of Sept. 11-15, Vern and Dilip will be away at
ACM SIGCOMM 2006.
Consequently, they will not have office hours.
No lecture on Weds Sept. 13.
New lecture location as of Wed Aug 30: 155 Donner.
Please sign up for
the class mailing list and
take the background survey.
Office hours for Prof. Paxson the week of Aug 28 are by appointment
