Instructional Facilities - Funding
The EECS Instructional facilities and staff are supported from three distinct
funds. Each is allocated from State sources and is intended for a specific
purpose.
Distributed Facilities:
used to support the networked Instructional computer facilities.
Distributed Facilities funds may be used to contribute to the cost of
resources that are shared with other funding units, such as sharing
the costs for departmental site licenses and audiovisual equipment, if
the resources will be used for coursework or class presentations.
ILAB:
used to support the electronics and instrumentation labs.
Instructional Equipment Replacement Funds:
used to replace and supplement equipment. It is allocated
by the State to the Campus each year, and departments apply for it.
Additional funding sources:
Lab Fees:
There is an optional usage fee for
individuals who choose to print more than their initial free page quota
in the EECS Instructional labs. This is not the same as the Course
Materials Fees, which are charged by the Registar to all students in a few
lab courses. Here is a reference about
Course Materials Fees vs Usage Fees.
