the Professional and Support Staff program (PSS/Grade 4).

Job Description:
In the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, perform
Windows and UNIX computer systems administration and user support.
Responsibilities:
Work with a team of programmers and engineers to support the instructional
computing labs in the department of Electrical Engineering and Computer
Sciences. Primary responsibility for 200 Windows systems and related
networked servers in 10 EECS engineering labs, and support software for
EECS classes. Maintain Windows and UNIX computers. Install operating
systems and application software, maintain security and compatibility of
the software. Provide user consulting by email and in person to students
and instructors.
Server technologies may include: Active Directory, GPOs, Exchange, IIS,
SQL Server, mySQL, Apache, Postgres.
Application software support may include: Xilinx, ModelSim, Hspice, Matlab,
LabView, Cadence, IntelliSuite, Exceed, SSH, X11 and UNIX shell scripts.
Reports to Manager of Instructional Support Group. Office is in Cory Hall.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Requires: Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree or equivalent.
Experience in Windows and UNIX systems administration, computer programming
and digital circuit simulation software. Excellent skills in writing, oral
communication, computation, and interpersonal cooperation. Requires
successful completion of a criminal background check.
Prefer: Experience with systems administration tasks on networked
workstations and domain servers running Windows and UNIX. Experience with
computer programming and scripting languages. Programming experience in C++,
Java, Perl, SQL, ODBC.
