My
name is Yujia Jin. Welcome to Computer Science 252
(NTU CA 714CA), Graduate Computer Architecture! I will be the consultant for this course and I am looking forward to working with you. Prof. Patterson is a great lecturer, and I am sure you'll find this course interesting and worthwhile.
My goal is to do whatever is
necessary to ensure that you receive the maximum benefits from taking this
class. Please take a moment to browse through this information
packet, which introduces the course in more detail, explains how to contact me
during the semester, and contains other important class information, such as
the syllabus and grading policy.
There is an introductory assignment
designed to familiarize you with the electronic communication and document
distribution mechanisms we plan to use this semester. You will notice
that I have included a likeness of myself with this letter. I would like to
know who you are as well. Be sure to fill out the enclosed
Student Background Questionnaire,
attaching a photograph of yourself if at all possible.
Computer architecture is a dynamic
and growing field, and this is one of the most exciting times in the history of
computing to be a part of it. This class will survey state-of-the-art research
and current high performance design techniques, with emphasis on quantitative
analysis based on real-life examples and scenarios. I am excited to be
your guide and consultant for this class, and I look forward to a stimulating
semester working with you.
Sincerely,
Yujia Jin
