| Allegro CL version 6.2 Unrevised from 6.1 |
Arguments: name-or-ftype &optional errorp
Returns an internal structucture containing a description of a foreign type. This internal structure can be passed to those functions that take a foreign type name (such as allocate-fobject).
This function is useful when the foreign-type is a type
description, such as (:array :int 10)
, that must be
parsed each time it is used in a function such as allocate-fobject. By calling
get-foreign-type once on (:array :int
10)
to create the internal description, and then passing that
internal description each time to allocate-fobject, that will save
the parsing cost on each call.
See ftype.htm for information on foreign types in Allegro CL and foreign-functions.htm for general information on foreign functions in Allegro CL.
