Hi, all! I’m Sarah, and very excited to be joining y’all for an in-person course this semester! Swing by office hours if you want to chat about compilers, programming languages, career stuff, research stuff, whatever random CS topics are on your mind. I’ve also been hanging around Berkeley off and on since about 2012, so swing by office hours if you want recs for tasty vegan food in the area. :) I’m very much looking forward to teaching this course and can’t wait to get started. Feel free to reach out with feedback about the course at any time—the whole course staff wants this to be an awesome experience for you. We have a lot of fun playing with compilers, and we think you might too! :)
Role: Head GSI
Office Hours: Fri 2pm–3pm @ Cory 258
Hey folks, I’m Parker and I’m thrilled to work with you this semester as one of your GSIs! My research focuses on applying techniques from programming languages and human-computer interaction to design and build new tools for analyzing and visualizing geospatial data. I also spent five years working as a software engineer before starting my Ph.D. at Berkeley. Come drop by office hours to chat compilers, maps, web dev, data viz, the NYT crossword, or whatever else is on your mind!
Office Hours: Thur 3pm–4pm @ Cory 258
Hello! I'm Selina, and I'm excited to be one of your GSIs this semester. This past summer, I worked on a language based on PHP during my internship. I really enjoyed this course, and I hope you like it too! Please feel free to come by my office hours to talk about language features or go (the board game) or BeatSaber!
Office Hours: Wed 11am–noon @ Soda 326
Hi everyone! I’m Justin, and I’m super excited to be one of your GSIs this semester! My research focuses on programming languages and human-computer interaction, and lately I’ve been very excited about the intersection of these areas with biology. Please feel free to stop by my office hours to talk about the course or any related topics!
Hi everyone, I’m Bryan! This class was an amazing experience last year and I hope to make it one for you all as well. I’m currently with the SLICE lab working on HAMMER, so if you have any questions feel free to ask. Otherwise, I dabble in many parts of nerd culture, from comics to mechanical keyboards!
Office Hours: Tue 10am–11am @ Zoom
Hello! I’m a fourth year PhD student interested in automated reasoning and programming languages. I enjoyed GSI-ing this course so much last year that I had to come back! Come by my office hours to talk about anything PL related.
