Overview

To make the camera obscura I used duct tape to "light-proof" a cardboard box. I then cut out a hole to let light through and another for the camera. The different diameters of holes that I used were 0.1mm, 1mm, and 5mm. The sharpest images where those taken with the 0.1mm hole. This makes sense because the optimal hole diameter for the box that I used is approximately 0.5mm. However, the images taken with the 0.1mm hole are much more grainy and dark due to the much smaller amount of light available. The 5mm hole produces the brightest images and most colorful images. However, these images are very blurry because 5mm is to large of a hole for the focal length of the box. I think the best images are produced by the 1mm hole. This is because it is still large enough to let sufficent light to produce bright images and is small enough to create sharp images.
