CS 194-26 Project 3 - Fun with Frequencies and Gradients!
By Jennifer Thakar
Part 1.1: Warmup
Original image, Sharpened (sigma = 10, alpha = 0.7)
Part 1.2: Hybrid Images
Hilfnero Hybrid (sigmas 1 and 3)
Left to right: Hilfinger, Hilfinger low passed, DeNero, DeNero high passed, Hilfnero
Frequency analysis for Hilfnero
Left to right: Hilfinger, Hilfinger low passed, DeNero, DeNero high passed, Hilfnero
Tenzinberg Hybrid (sigmas 4 and 12)
Left to right: Tenzin, Walter White, Tenzinberg
Failure Case: Derek/Nutmeg Hybrid (sigmas 3 and 10)
Left to right: Nutmeg, Derek, Hybrid
Failure most likely due to bad sigma values.
Part 1.3: Gaussian and Laplacian Stacks
All stacks show Gaussian on top and Laplacian on bottom
Lincoln in Dalivision Stacks
Mona Lisa Stacks
Hilfnero Stacks
Part 1.4: Multiresolution Blending
Oraple
Left to right: Apple, orange, multiresolution (7 levels) blended oraple
Oraple Process
Top to bottom: Gaussian stack of mask, Laplacian stack of apple, Laplacian stack of orange, combined Lapacian stack
Soccer Globe
Left to right: Soccer, globe, multiresolution (7 levels) blended image
Sunset Eagle
Left to right: Sunset, eagle, multiresolution (5 levels) blended image
Part 2.1: Toy Problem
Original Reconstructed
Part 2.2: Poisson Blending
Best Result: Sunset Eagle
The poisson blending corrects for the different light under which the two photos where taken.
Compare to multiresolution blending result above and direct paste below.
The poisson blending works much better here.
Pool Shark
Penguins
This is somewhat of a failure case, as it is actively snowing in the penguin picture, but not in the main picture.
