Depth Refocusing

In depth refocusing, we average together different displacements from the center image, defined as (8, 8). Define these displacements as variables (u, v), or basically the difference between the center image and some given image. We range c values from c = -2 to c = 4. As the value of c increases, the depth of focus moves up the board. Below are images of differing values of c, starting at -2 and ending at 4.

Aperture Adjustment

In apeture adjustment, we average together different displacements of images starting from the center image, (8, 8). We define a constant c which we range from 0 to 8, and get the mean of images ranging from (8-c, 8-c) to (8+c, 8+c). As we increase our c value, the size of our apeture decreases, and the area around our focus becomes blurrier. Below are the images ranging from c = 0 to c = 8.

What I learned

This project was super cool and taught me how storing a little extra information allowed you to do some really cool effects on photos. It gave me a better grasp on how apeture and depth works in terms of photography as well.
