Project 7: Final Project

Part 1 : Vertigo Shot

Rectified Pictures

For the first part, I chose Vertigo Shot because I thought it was interesting that i could do it simply. To take photos, I went to Cory Hall and start taking picture from far away with zoom, and as I approach to the object, I zoom out to keep the object size the same. In this way, I could simulate the dolly zoom using vertigo shot. Below are my pictures.

Part 2 : Fake Miniatures

In this part of the project, I implemented a technique called "Tilt Shift" which makes the buildings/objects look like miniature by blurring out the non-interested area. I set the focus line first, and defined DOF and inceasingly burr the image around the focus plane. Below are the examples of my Tilt Shift result.

Summary & What I learned

Through this project, I learned how to simulate vertigo shot using zoom and make fake miniatures using blurring feature. Throught the whole semester, I had so much fun with this class and I feel like I learned so much about Computational photography. Thank you for the course instructors and readers!
