Part 1: Nose Tip Detection

This part is to do single-point detection on small image dataset, with each is 80*60.

1. Sampled image from my dataloader

image imageimage image
We show several examples here.

2. The train and validation accuracy

img
We use OCU as the accuracy, while OCU is defined below: OCU = Overlap(y_train, outputs)/Union(y_train, outputs)

3. Examples of applying NTD to the images

imgimg
These are two success examples. imgimg
These are two fail examples.

The number of data samples is too small.

Part 2: Full Facial Keypoints Detection

In this part, it turns to predict all 58 points in each photo.

1. Sampled image from my dataloader

image imageimage image
We show some examples after we do rotation on these photos.

2. The detailed architecture

image
This is the 6 conv-layers CNN architecture we use.

3. The train and validation loss

image
We use MSELoss as the loss function and this figure shows the tendency.

4. The Learned Filters Visualization

image image image image image image
We visualize all size conv-layers in this CNN.

Part 3: Train With Larger Dataset

1. Sampled image from my dataloader

imageimage imageimage

There is a big shortage when using the given box to crop the photo. Some points cannot be covered.

imageimage
Therefore, we use our own scheme to crop the images and the results are shown above, which is better then using the bounded box.

We uses to train a VGG Net, but its performance is not quite good. We use the sque(MSELoss) to replace the MSELoss. We use a lr schduler to change the learning rate at runtime.

def loss_cus(outputs, batch_y):
    loss = torch.sqrt(F.mse_loss(outputs, batch_y))
    return loss

# nn.MSELoss()
loss_fn = loss_cus
lr = 0.1
optimizer = Adam(cnn.parameters(), lr=0.1, betas=(0.9, 0.999))

lr = 0.1
if i < 3:
    for param in optimizer.param_groups:
        param['lr'] = lr
elif i < 5:
    for param in optimizer.param_groups:
        param['lr'] = lr * 0.1
elif i < 8:
    for param in optimizer.param_groups:
        param['lr'] = lr * 0.01
else:

        param['lr'] = lr * 0.005
