Mini-Biography: ============== --> Where did you grow up? What was your academic path? (e.g. Did you live in the same town all your life or did you move around; and if so, where? Did you go to community college or another school before this one?) I grew up in a small coastal city called San Clemente in southern California. I've been interested in computers and programming since I was in middle school (from playing video games), so I already knew I wanted to pursue computer science coming into Berkeley. --> How much programming have you done (and what languages)? I started with writing JavaScript for games back when I was 13, and programmed on and off in high school in C#, Java, and C++. In college, I learned Python and C for classes. For my summer internship at Twitter, I programmed in Scala, which is actually a pretty cool language since it combines functional programming with OOP. --> What are your hobbies? Playing video games (osu & DotA 2 although I suck at both), browsing reddit, and watching anime. I'm trying to read more so I bought "what if?" by the xkcd creator but I'd say I still have a long way to go. --> What are some of your talents and skills? I got decent at ping pong this summer. --> Have you done anything remarkable? Has anything really memorable happened to you? (e.g. travel, meeting famous people, 15 min of fame, inventions, overcoming adversity, etc.) I recently did a one week roadtrip up the west coast to Portland, Seattle, and Vancouver with some college friends. We saw a lot of beautiful nature, ate a lot of delicious food, and had a lot of fun overall! --> What commitments will be consuming your cycles this term? (e.g. classes, jobs, family, commutes, volunteering, sports, student groups, etc.) For now, I'm just taking classes (CS186, EE16A, CS161), TAing, and maybe playing IM basketball.
