Mini-Biography: ============== --> Where did you grow up? What was your academic path? I was born in Tehran, Iran, and lived there until I was eight. Then I moved to Cupertino, CA, where I attended the world-famous Homestead High School (of which Steve Jobs and the Woz are alumni). Then I got rejected from Stanford, so my best choice after that was Berkeley. --> How much programming have you done (and what languages)? I’ve been programming since freshman year of high school. I started with Java, then moved to C++ and focused on algorithmic programming competitions like USACO. Since then I’ve picked up Python and some web languages as well. --> What are your hobbies? I occasionally go on 30-40 mile bike trips, and I “try” to work out everyday at the gym. --> What are some of your talents and skills? I am very, very talented at every skill you could dream think of. --> Have you done anything remarkable? Has anything really memorable happened to you? This past summer, I travelled to Iran. In a matter of 5 weeks, I visited 5 cities (in fact I visited one of them on three separate occasions), and in that time I got really, really sick twice. Despite the sickness, it was a really fun trip! --> What commitments will be consuming your cycles this term? I will be taking CS 170+189 this semester, doing research, and of course, tutoring for CS 61C.
