Name: Justin Yum Login: Email: yumjustin@berkeley.edu -->Where did you grow up? What was your academic path? I lived in Virginia until I came to Berkeley, and went to Thomas Jefferson High School for Science & Technology. Ever since I learned some of the basic AI algorithms in high school, I wanted to focus on applications of machine learning. -->How much programming have you done(& what languages)? I've done several years of coding in and out of classes, including at NASA. As far as languages, I know C, Java, Python, and Ruby. -->What are your hobbies? I like to read classic literature and write in my spare time, and I love to golf when I get the chance. --> What are some of your talents and skills? Apparently I can code well, although I like to think of myself as a well-rounded person. I also did a lot of public speaking in high school, but I can always learn. --> Have you done anything remarkable? Has anything really memorable happened to you? Over winter break I went to a National Security Council meeting at the White House on policy applications of recent technologies for coping with climate change. --> What commitments will be consuming your cycles this term? Classes will consume time (I heard CS162 is particularly heavy). I also participate in the Cal Solar Car team and the Regents' and Chancellor's Scholars Association. There are also my commitments to this course, as both a tutor and a lab assistant.
