/============\ | Homework 0 | \============/ Name: Hokeun Kim Login: cs61c-tc E-mail: hokeunkim@berkeley.edu Mini-Biography: ============== --> Where did you grow up? What was your academic path? (e.g. Did you live in the same town all your life or did you move around; and if so, where? Did you go to community college or another school before this one?) I was born in Seoul, Korea, and lived there until I came to Berkeley in 2012. I did my Bachelor's degree in CS and master's degree in EECS at Seoul National University, and now I'm a second year Ph.D. student here in EECS, working with Prof. Edward Lee. My research interests are designing and modeling embedded systems (such as computer systems used in airplanes, cars, robots, and mobile devices), especially the computer architecture of embedded systems. If you are interested in working on embedded systems, I'll be happy to talk to you about my research! --> How much programming have you done (and what languages)? I started programming with Java during the first year of my undergrad, and then I learned C, Assembly, VHDL, and Verilog. I used C/C++ and python extensively when I was working in industry. Currently, I'm using C, Java, Python, and Chisel (a hardware description language developed at Berkeley) for my research. --> What are your hobbies? I like to listen to music and watch movies. I also love skiing in winter very much. --> What are some of your talents and skills? I can play the violin. I used to be a member of school orchestra when I was an undergrad. --> Have you done anything remarkable? Has anything really memorable happened to you? (e.g. travel, meeting famous people, 15 min of fame, inventions, overcoming adversity, etc.) I've traveled 25 countries so far, and I'm still planning to visit more in the rest of my life! --> What commitments will be consuming your cycles this term? (e.g. classes, jobs, family, commutes, volunteering, sports, student groups, etc.) -TAing cs61c and doing some research.
