WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR PATH TO CAL? I was born in Brentwood, TN, but moved to San Diego, CA when I was two, and lived there until college. I attended and graduated from Westview High School in 2014 and began attending UC Berkeley the following fall. I'm now currently a rising sophomore at Cal. HOW MUCH PROGRAMMING HAVE YOU DONE (& WHAT LANGUAGES)? I was first exposed to programming through a Java summer class when I was around 11 years old. From there, I primarily self-studied until I took the AP Computer Science class at my high school, also in Java. I also learned a little bit of Matlab for my linear algebra class, and then later learned Pythonand C in CS61 A and CS61 C, respectively. WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? I enjoy reading books, keeping updated on technology news, watching documentaries (usually either physics or technology), playing piano occaisionally, imagining and sometimes writing stories, and playing video games (not LoL though, primarily RPG or action/adventure). WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR TALENTS & SKILLS? I can play piano, alto saxophone, and cello, swim (semi-)competitively, and fence poorly. HAVE YOU DONE ANYTHING REMARKABLE? HAS ANYTHING MEMORABLE HAPPENED TO YOU? One of my fondest memories was placing first in a state science olympiad event for the first time in eighth grade. Another one of my happiest memories is of the day I spent hiking up to some waterfalls with my cousins. WHAT COMMMITMENTS WILL BE CONSUMING YOUR CYCLES THIS SEMESTER? I'm currently taking two classes over the summer, CS 162 (Operating Systems and Systems Programming) and Physics 7C (Electromagnetic waves, optics, relativity, and quantum physics). I may also be joining a dance team (AFX), time permitting. Of course, I am also working as a tutor for CS 61C
