/============================\ | Staff Mini-Biography: Alex | \============================/
WHERE DID YOU GROW UP? WHAT WAS YOUR ACADEMIC PATH? I was born in China and had my middle school and high school in Singapore. Now I am a rising junior majoring in computer science. HOW MUCH PROGRAMMING HAVE YOU DONE (& WHAT LANGUAGES)? I started my college as a chemistry major but I just couldn't resist the beauty of computer science, so essentially I started programming here at Cal. WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES? When I am not doing CS, I like running. It has really been a struggle to balance between a healthy lifestyle and all the stress in CS life, but I try not to succumb to the sedentary stereotype of CS majors. (fun fact: running is also a hobby of Alan Turing) WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR TALENTS AND SKILLS? I love running and I like to cook for other people, but I guess I am hardly talented in those. HAVE YOU DONE ANYTHING REMARKABLE? HAS ANYTHING MEMORABLE HAPPENED TO YOU? I ran 210 km within a month for my 21st birthday. I tried to do 220 km for my 22nd birthday, but unfortunately it was a shame.... WHAT COMMITMENTS WILL BE CONSUMING YOUR CYCLES THIS SEMESTER? I am running SF half marathon the end of July so I will be training for it. I am also learning iOS development on myself and hopefully wrote my first app this summer. I am also a cs70 academic intern so you will probably see my face there as well.
