Fifteenth  Week - April 30- May 4

Lecture:

Use of frequency analysis methods to evaluate the frequency response of multistage circuits. Examples of the cascode CS-CB with excellent frequency response and of the three stage voltage amplifier circuit.

Discussion Sections:

Examples of the use of the Miller effect and the open-circuit time-constant method in analyzing frequency-response. Use of these examples to illustrate how amplifier configurations affect frequency response.

Laboratories:

Lab Quiz #2 (short Lab)

Homework:

Problem Set 14 covers the new material on frequency response of multistage amplifiers (section 10.7) and review problems on finding expressions for two-port parameters (such as Rin, Rout and gain) and on walking through the analysis of a simple amplifier circuit to find bias voltage and currents and then (Rin, Rout and Gain).

Schedule and Assignments:
4/30

Lecture 39 - Frequency response of multistage amplifiers: cascode and voltage amplifier circuits.

Reading: 10.7 (Congratulations. You have made it through all of the EE 105 material!)

5/2

Lecture 40 - Analysis of example IC design: recognizing sub-circuits as well as the signal path and quantitatively evaluating voltage references, current sources and circuit two-port parameters.

Reading: Handout

5/4

Lecture 41 - Review

Homework #14 is due in box outside of 277 Cory on way into the classroom at start of class.
