Exam Information
- Final Exam
- Time and Location: The final will be on Saturday, December 17, at 5 - 8 PM, in the Bechtel auditorium.
- Rules: The exam is closed book and closed notes. Calculators, laptops, and other computing and communications devices are not permitted. You will be allowed to bring three (3) double-sided, handwritten (NOT photocopied) sheets of notes (8 1/2 x 11 paper). You will receive a copy of the following pdf file of tables, and also a photocopy of Table 10.3 in the OWN textbook.
- Review sessions: Two review sessions will be held, on Wednesday, Dec. 14, at 8 - 10 PM, in room 120 Latimer; and on Thursday, Dec. 15, at 10 AM - 12 noon, in room 141 Giannini. We will cover the same set of sample problems at both sessions.
- sampleexamF.pdf: We will solve the problems in this sample exam at the two review sessions. Important Note: THE SOLUTIONS TO THIS SAMPLE EXAM WILL NOT BE POSTED. Please come to one of the two review sessions if you want to know how to solve the problems.
- Exam 2: November 14, in class
- Coverage: Exam 2 will cover all materials encountered up to and including Lecture 19 (November 7). This specifically includes Chapters 1-8 and Sections 9.1-9.3, 9.5-9.7 of the textbook and Homeworks 1-9. There is a clear emphasis on the material that was discussed in class, in discussion section, and in the homework sets since Exam 1 (that is, Sampling, Communications, and early parts of the Laplace transform discussion).
- Rules: The exam is closed book and closed notes. Calculators, laptops, and other computing or communications devices are not permitted. You will be allowed to bring two (2) double-sided, handwritten (NOT photocopied) sheet of notes (8 1/2 x 11 paper). Also, you will receive copies of tables 3.1, 3.2, 4.1, 4.2, 5.1, 5.2, 9.1, 9.2 of the textbook at the beginning of the exam.
- Review session: A review session will be held on Thursday, 11/10, at 7 - 9 PM, in 60 Evans.
- Sample exam. We will solve the problems in this sample exam at the review session on Thursday night.
