About the EECS Instructional printer page quotas:
- Free quotas are computed at 50 pages per credit for each course that
the account is for. (Examples: If you have a 'class'
account for a 4-credit class, that account gets 200 free pages this semester.
If you have a 'named' account for 2 3-credit classes, that account
gets 300 free pages this semester.)
- Undergraduates and graduates in EE and CS majors are given an additional
50 pages per semester on their 'named' accounts.
- Double-sided printing counts as 1 page.
- Page quotas cannot be transferred amongst your accounts (because
add/drops would complicate the accounting).
- Page quotas (free and purchased) are reset at the end of each semester (in May, August, December).
- Our purpose is to control our former open-ended printing costs (not to
make money). We may have to reduce the free pages in future semesters
to reduce our printing costs.
Please see our
http://inst.eecs.berkeley.edu/notices page for the initial
announcement of this policy in Spring 2004.
Thank you,
